Welcome to Kiel Science Outreach Campus

How to convey the significance and the attainments of science in a comprehensive and inspiring way?

The Kiel Science Outreach Campus (KiSOC) will study the concepts and the effects of different methods of presenting science to various target groups. The purpose is to close the current research gap of numerous approaches but very little hard data on their effect and effectiveness. The KiSOC will investigate, further develop, and evaluate a number of approaches in order to identify critical influences on the effectiveness of the chosen method.

The KiSOC is one of only seven new Leibniz Association Science Campuses. Science Campuses will open up innovative research fields through subject specific networking between university and non-university entities and thus will be creating internationally recognized science centers. The Campus is funded by the Leibniz Association, the Leibniz Institute for Science and Mathematics Education (IPN), the Kiel University (CAU), and the Federal State of Schleswig-Holstein. 13 national and international partners help strengthen the Campus’ research profile.
